Vincent Emil Pesiri

Dr. Vincent Pesiri, a well respect surgeon, husband, father and grandfather, passed away on May 10, 2026, after a prolonged illness at the age of 72.

Born in Queens, New York, on October 18, 1953, Dr. Pesiri was the son of Vincent and Mary Pesiri, both immigrants from Italy.  He pursued his education with dedication, graduating from Chaminade High School and St. John’s University, eventually earning his medical degree from SUNY-Downstate. Over the course of a distinguished career spanning over 35 years, he served his community as a surgeon at Glen Cove Hospital.

A lifelong Yankees fan, Dr. Pesiri enjoyed Yankees history and attending games when possible.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen; his three children, Brigid, Patty and Vincent; and his cherished grandchildren, who brought him endless pride and joy. He also leaves behind extended family, dear friends, former patients, and colleagues who will remember his humor and encyclopedia-like mind.

A private funeral Mass will be held on May 22, 2026, at Corpus Christi Church.
