Sharon Gately-Kunkel

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sharon Gately-Kunkel, a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, Aunt, fiancée, and friend, whose love and light touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. 

She was the proud and loving mother of her only child, Kim, and a cherished mother-in-law to Mike. Her greatest joy in life was being a grandmother to her three beautiful grandchildren — Kayla (deceased), Abigail, and Alyssa — whom she loved more than anything in this world.

Sharon was kind, sweet, loyal, endlessly patient, and truly one of the most loving souls. Her warmth made people feel welcome. Her sense of humor made them laugh. She had a quiet strength and grace that carried her through life and inspired those around her. Many friends became like family, and she was loved deeply by all who met her.

She is survived by her daughter Kimberly (Mike); her grandchildren Abigail and Alyssa; her sister Gail (Steve); her nephew John (Kristie), nieces Joy (Jon) and Debbie (Bobby), and their children; and her fiancé Paul.

Though her absence leaves an immeasurable void, her love remains — in the lessons she taught, the laughter she shared, and the family she cherished so deeply. Her beautiful spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
