Mary Teresa Cassidy

CASSIDY – Mary T. (nee Maieski), passed away at home with her family on June 3, 2024. She lived a blessed life of 98 years. Predeceased by her parents Frank and Martha Maieski also her brothers Frank and Robert.  Beloved wife of 58 years to the late Thomas J. Cassidy. Loving Mother of six, Thomas (Mildred), Mary Elaine (James), late Robert, Margaret (Richard), Francis (Laura) and Martha (David).

Grandmother to 13, Thomas C. (Melpomene), Matthew (Jennifer), Michael (Andrea), James, Michele, Thomas D., Amy, Janelle, Alexandra (Michael), Irene, Kellie, David and Thomas R.

Great Grandmother to 11, Evangeline, Thomas Z., Finnian, Lukia, Connor, Caitlin, Damian, Liam, Catriona, Tanner and Marley.

Loved by many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Mary was born in Bay Ridge Brooklyn where she married and started her family after WWII. They eventually moved to Springfield Gardens then Mineola. After camping with the family for many years they purchased a special cabin in Lake Panamoka that eventually became their forever home. Tom and Mary also snow birded in Delray Beach Florida for 33 years. They enjoyed wonderful times there and developed countless friendships. These friendships live on with the extended families that continue to grow.

Mary lived a full life with a sense of humor and joy for life. She helped everyone navigate the tough bumps in life and keep them in perspective. She loved her family and remembered them all on their special days.
