Manuel DosSantos

Manuel DosSantos, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away at the age of 81 on November 17, 2025. Born in Murtosa, Portugal, on May 5, 1944, to Manuel and Palmira Dos Santos, he moved to Venezuela at the age of 15 to join his father and brother, where he learned the masonry trade. In 1968, Manuel returned to Portugal and married his beautiful wife of 57 years, Maria Cravo DosSantos. Shortly after, the couple began their life together in the United States, where they planted roots in Mineola, New York.

A master cement mason and member of Cement Masons’ Local 780, Manuel was widely known and highly regarded for his craftsmanship. His work can be found throughout New York City, Long Island, and New Jersey, with each project reflecting the pride, skill, and dedication he brought to his trade. Those who knew him admired not only his talent but also his reliability and unwavering work ethic.

Above all, Manuel was a family man, and his love for his family was unconditional and fierce. He is survived by his wife, Maria; daughters Palmira (Mark) and Maria (Carlos); granddaughters Julia (Kenneth), Brianna, Sofia, Emma, and Isabel; his sister Rosa (João, deceased); his brother Antonio (Maria), and his many nieces and nephews. He is also predeceased by his siblings, Domingos (Doralice), Alice (Antonio), and Ana (Manuel).

Manuel will be remembered for his strength, generosity, work ethic, and the deep love he held for his family. His legacy lives on in the people he shaped, the work of his hands, and the values he instilled in those who loved him. He will be profoundly missed – his charisma, warmth, and the light of his smile will remain in our hearts always.
