Joseph C. Forte

March 19, 1937 — April 17, 2020

On Friday, April 17, 2020, Joseph C. Forte, loving husband of Claire Warmuth Forte and devoted father, passed away at the age of 83. Joseph was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on March 19, 1937 to Nancy Robusto Forte and Charles William Forte. His childhood dream was to become a major league baseball player and even received an offer from the Pittsburg Pirates to play professional baseball in the Class D minor league.  In order to stay close to his family, he did not accept the offer but he remained an avid sports fan and coach for his entire life. He also proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.  He married Claire Warmuth, the love of his life, on May 7, 1960. He received his Master’s degree from Pace University in New York City and later established a career as the Director of Human Resources at Panasonic and Sharp Electronics Corporations. Those of you who knew him know he was a dynamic personality with lots of spunk. He enjoyed pushing people’s buttons but he had the biggest and warmest heart. He would stop at nothing to help and support his children and grandchildren and be a loyal friend. He loved Snoopy (Joe Cool), Marilyn Monroe, the Dodgers and the Yankees, old movies (TCM was always on TV), playing pinochle with the guys at the Golden Age Club, and playing poker at Mohegan Sun. He was a mayor of sorts at the local King Kullen making sure everyone he met had the weekly $10 coupon. He loved being around people and bringing a smile to their faces.More than anything, he loved and idolized his beautiful wife, Claire, who he is now reunited with after desperately missing her for 30 years. His absence will leave a deep void in all of our lives but the love he left in our hearts will live forever. “Here’s looking at you, kid” Joseph is survived by his sister, Theresa Gilburn, his three children, Andrew, Peter, and Alison, and his two grandchildren, Brian and Claire.
