John Patrick Williams

John Patrick Williams (Jack) - of Carle Place, formerly of Maspeth, NY entered eternal life peacefully at home and surrounded by his loving family on April 3, 2020 at the age of 91. Predeceased by his wife Eileen (Dunleavy) Williams, whom he cherished, he is survived by his beloved sons John Williams and wife Darlene of Carle Place, NY, Terrence and wife Jodi of Galena, IL, Martin and wife Ginny of Hillsborough, NJ, James and wife Jennifer of Carle Place, NY and Timothy of New York, NY.  Beloved grandfather of Jonathan, Matthew, Alyson, Brian, Marissa, Thomas, Keith, Jenna, James, Michael and Juliane. Treasured great-grandfather of Jane. Son of the late John and Ana Williams. Fond brother of Robert Williams and the late Ana May Garbedian. Fond brother in-law of Margaret Quinn of Mineola, NY and her late husband Edward and Lillian Dunleavy of Seaford, NY and her late husband Martin. Jack was a proud son of the Bronx where he attended Saint Anselm’s elementary school and Cardinal Hayes H.S. He was honorably discharged from the US Navy and one-time member of the New York City Police Department, Jack graduated with a BA from Iona College. After the NYPD he had a long and successful career in Sales Management at SeaLand Service, one of the world’s largest steamship companies.  Jack was a devoted member of the Catholic Church and an avid lover of music. He spent many years teaching and playing the fife to show his love of children, the Church and his country. Jack was an avid fan of New York sports including a long-time season ticket holder of the NY Giants. Mostly, he loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great granddaughter. Visitation is private by necessity on Tuesday, April 7 with a private interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery in Woodside, Queens. A memorial service will be held at a later time.
