Colette Barcos

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Colette Barcos, who left us peacefully on June 3, 2024 at 90 years old.

Colette was born on August 26, 1933 in Paris, France to Gaston & Bernadette Vales. Her life was full of love and laughter; she enjoyed dancing, singing, drinking copious amounts of champagne, and spoiling her cat. She touched the lives of all who knew her.

Colette moved to New York City at 18 years old, where she worked as a hairdresser and met her husband Vincent Barcos. Colette was greeted at the gates of heaven by her parents, daughter Linda, husband Vincent, companion Joe, and all her family and friends who have gone before her. Colette is survived by her son Claude, daughter-in-law Christina, and son-in-law William; her grandchildren Melissa, Billy, Bobby and Joe; and her great grandchildren, Mason, Maya, Hudson, and Alyssa.

To commemorate her incredible journey and celebrate both her life and the love that she spread, a service will be held in her honor at Cassidy Funeral Home in Mineola, NY on June 5, 2024, from 11am to 12pm. We invite all who knew her to join us in remembering a truly remarkable woman.
