Charles John Curry
Born and raised in Hell’s Kitchen, he moved to Woodside, Queens
where he raised his loving family with his wife Catherine. In his later
years he moved to Garden City Park. Charles passed away peacefully on
September 10, 2025, at the age of 96.
Charles was the loving husband of Catherine for almost 76 years and a
devoted father to Charles, Joseph (Debbie), and Jacqueline Kearney
(Brian). He was a proud and adoring grandfather to Ryan (Ashley),
Shane (Joanna), and Kevin Kearney, and a cherished great-grandfather
to Isla. He is also survived by his beloved brothers Eugene and Gerard
(Barbara), as well as many nieces and nephews. Charles was
predeceased by his siblings Peter and Joan.
A proud veteran, Charles served his country during the Korean War as a
Corporal in the United States Army, assigned to the 92nd Armored Field
Artillery. He was a lifelong Yankees fan, loved watching boxing matches,
and had a wonderful sense of humor. Later in his career he started his
own business, Curry Industrial Supply Company, a testament to his hard
work, determination, and entrepreneurial spirit.
Charles will be deeply missed by his family, who will continue to
remember him with love and admiration every single day.
