Belarmina Cabral

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Belarmina Cabral, who left us peacefully and surrounded by family on June 24, 2024, at the age of 97.

Belarmina was born on May 13, 1927, in Cativelos, Portugal to Antonia Rosa Dacosta and Antonio Gomes Coelho. She was a woman of deep faith, who lived a life full of laughter and love. She enjoyed tending to her garden, cooking, singing, dancing and doting on her family. She was an unforgettable presence in the lives of all she encountered.

Belarmina moved from Portugal to the United States in 1969 with her husband, Antonio, and three daughters, Rosa, Alice and Lucille. She worked for Great Neck Saw from her arrival in the states to the time of her retirement. The job she took the most pride in, though, was being the matriarch of the family. Belarmina is greeted in heaven by her husband, Antonio, whom she loved dearly, as well as her parents, siblings, and all her family and friends who have gone before her. Belarmina is survived by her daughters Rosa (Louis) Pinto, Alice (Roy) Boos, Lucille (Gary) Leuis; grandchildren Craig, Andrea, Alyssa, Lauren, Eric, Gary and Kevin; and great grandchildren Nicholas, Gianna, Dylan, Sydney, Eric, Ryan, Isaac, Grace and Callie.

We invite all whose lives she touched to join us in celebrating both her life and the love that she spread. Visiting will be Thursday, June 27, 2024, from 4-9pm at Cassidy Funeral Home in Mineola, NY. Funeral Mass will take place on Friday June 28, 2024, at 9:30am at Corpus Christi Church. Interment to follow at Holy Rood Cemetery
