Here is the link for the video livestream at at Corpus Christi: https://watchhere.live/alicesqueri Alice Squeri (90) passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at her home at Arden Courts in Westlake, Ohio, after a multiyear battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She is survived by her son (Stephen Squeri), daughter (Janice Santoro), daughter-in-law (Therese Squeri), son-in-law (Bob Santoro), her six grandsons (Michael Squeri, Bobby Santoro, John Santoro, Daniel Squeri, Bryan Squeri and Christopher Squeri) and their spouses, and five great grandchildren. Alice, who was one of nine children of the late Frank and Josephine Portalatin, was born in New York City on December 16, 1931. Two of her brothers (John and Bobby Portalatin ) and two of her sisters-in-law (Gloria Squeri and Lydia Portalatin) survive her. Alice graduated in 1949 from Walton High School in the Bronx, where she excelled as a student. On August 12, 1951, Alice married her beloved late husband, John Squeri (1930-2017). In 1966, Alice and John moved from their apartment in Queens, New York into their first and only single-family home in Mineola, New York. Alice and John lived together in their home in Mineola for over 60 years, where Alice selflessly dedicated herself to her family, and where she and John enjoyed many wonderful times with family and friends. Among other things, Alice worked a number of years for an insurance company where she supervised a number of young employees who came to love and respect her. She lived in her Mineola home until June 2018, when she moved to Westlake, Ohio to take up residence at Arden Courts, where she came to be loved and adored by the staff who helped care for her until she passed. Family and friends are welcome for visitation at the Cassidy Funeral Home, 156 Willis Avenue, Mineola, NY 11501, on Friday, February 18, 2022 from 2 to 5PM and 7 to 9PM. A Funeral Mass will take place at Corpus Christi Church, 155 Garfield Ave., Mineola, NY 11501 on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 9:30AM. Interment St. Charles Cemetery For those who wish, donations may be made in Alice’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org.
